Our Vision - Part 6

Peace and Justice

6. We envision our members and friends being both students of, and visible advocates for, issues of peace and justice.

We see:

• People committed to confronting all manifestations of injustice, knowing that justice pleads for long-term change.

• People actively exploring ways to make justice and peace issues an integral part of our church life.

• People and small groups bringing advocacy into all aspects of our congregation's everyday activities and projects, including worship, liturgy, prayers, sermons, education classes, Bible studies, discussion circles, fellowship dinners, and mission trips.

• Our church creating environments for honest dialogue on complex issues and remaining committed to flexibility when changing
circumstances call for the church to faithfully witness in new and different ways.

“Give justice to the weak and the orphan; maintain the right of the lowly
and the destitute. Rescue the weak and the needy;
deliver them from the hand of the wicked.”
