Northeast Iowa Food Bank
The Northeast Iowa Food Bank provides nutritious food and grocery products to non-profit organizations and individuals in Northeast Iowa, while offering hunger education programs, child nutrition and elderly nutrition services. How you can help: Donations of food and nonfood items can be dropped off at the church in the box at the bottom of the stairs. Contact the food bank to volunteer. www.northeastiowafoodbank.org

Operation Threshold
Operation Threshold provides a variety of services to low and moderate-income families and individuals, including heat assistance, supplemental nutrition programming (WIC), family development and self-sufficiency, and the Stork's Nest program for new and expectant mothers.

Black Hawk/Grundy Mental Health Center
Started by community members seeing a need in 1949, the health center is dedicated to improving the lives of people served by providing innovative, quality mental health care services. Our donation helps with funding services for those without means.

Salvation Army of Waterloo
The Salvation Army provides two emergency shelters for homeless men, women and children as well as emergency assistance to battered women.  Free noon meals are served five days a week.  Emergency assistance is available in the form of energy assistance, rent assistance, food boxes and personal products as well as their well-known Christmas assistance and kettle programs.

House of Hope
House of Hope is a Christian based two-year transitional housing program for homeless single mothers and their children.  Women are provided support, guidance and assistance with employment, education and life skills.  http://www.houseofhopeccd.org

Catholic Worker House
The Catholic Worker House in Waterloo is a privately funded program reaching out to the hungry and homeless. In two separate homes, temporary housing is available for 6 men and 5 women & children. Local churches and service groups provide hot meals, food, and funding.  319-232-2116

Community Meals of Cedar Falls
Cedar Heights' members help provide food and prepare meals at the weekly community meal served in Cedar Falls at First Methodist Church.

Family and Children's Council
The Council provides programs to prevent child abuse and strengthen families.
Parenting programs exist for supporting parents of newborns, teens, families under stress, parenting skills development, transition of children to adolescence, preventing child sexual abuse, women’s self sufficiency and growth, and others.    http://www.fccouncil.net

Quakerdale
Quakerdale is a private non-profit social agency providing comprehensive, preventative and therapeutic services to strengthen children and families.  Residential treatment, day treatment and a transitional living program are components of the program.   http://www.quakerdale.org

Harbaugh Williams Education Promise Fund

Seeds of Hope

Alliance for the Mentally Ill
The Waterloo office, a part of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), works to improve the quality of life for persons of all ages affected by mental illnesses.  They provide support, education, advocacy, and support groups for peers and families.

Big Brothers and Sisters
