The Pastoral Care Ministry provides comfort, care and support for people in special times of need.
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. II Corinthians 1:3-4
Pastoral Care involves a number of caring activities including:
- pastoral counseling
- premarital counseling
- hospital calling
- calling on those in long-term care
- calling on those who are grieving
For those in the hospital, the Pastor calls on congregants each weekday to offer prayer and empathetic listening in their time of need.
Pastoral Care also arranges for elders to take communion to shut-ins for deacons and elders to take Easter and Advent Flowers to shut-ins
Pastoral Care coordinates meals that are brought to families that are in times of crisis as well as the delivery of prayer shawls to those needing special prayer.
