What is a Deacon?
The office of Deacon at Cedar Heights Community Presbyterian Church “as set forth in scripture is one of sympathy, witness, and service after the example of Jesus Christ.” (PCUSA Book of Order)

The Board of Deacons at CHCPC is divided into two basic ministries: internal and external. Internal ministries focus on congregational care and worship. External ministries focus on mission and community service. CHCPC’s annual summer Ice Cream Social is supported by both the Internal and External ministries as a source of funding for the church’s overall mission priorities.

As with Elders, becoming a Deacon at Cedar Heights Presbyterian Church requires a thoughtful and prayerful process.
