Educational Hour (Sunday Morning) |
|
Sunday School programming, for preschoolers (age 4) through fifth grade students, is offered throughout the calendar year. Each month the children rotate through various classrooms: Scripture Tent, Curiosity Corner, and Creation Station. Each classroom offers different activities centered on the month’s theme, allowing the children to study from different perspectives, learning styles, needs and ages. Accommodations for children with special needs, such as using the Boardmaker program, are part of our regular programming. |

Wednesday Nights at Cedar Heights! |
Intergenerational Wednesday Nights @ Cedar Heights! Wednesday Nights at Cedar Heights are not just geared for your average 6-year-old. Each Wednesday night the entire congregation is welcomed to come break bread together during a community meal, attend a formative, engaging bible or topical study and join any of our exciting musical groups.
For children 5th grade and below, each age group has an opportunity to be involved with a choir and to get together with friends.
Preschool thru 2nd Grade Activity Time - Watch a video lesson and play games. The dynamic and age-appropriate Davy and Goliath curriculum will be presented to this group. Cherub Choir - A choir especially for early elementary children.
3rd Grade Praisemaker Choir - A choir for 3rd through 5th graders. Bible Exploration - Discover ways to unlock the mysteries found in God's word. 4th and 5th Grade Praisemaker Choir - A choir for 3rd through 5th graders. Club 45 - A special place for 4th and 5th graders to hang out enjoying a time of fellowship and faith formation with adult leaders.
While the children are at play, Wednesday Nights at Cedar Heights is a great time for adults of all ages to participate in spiritually nourishing bible or topical study (ex. prayer) that will encourage them to deepen their faith and grow in their discipleship. After the study, all are welcome to linger and explore the gift of musical worship with either the Sanctuary Choir or Praise Band. |

Time is spent each summer, usually one week, involving CHCPC children, neighborhood children, and other interested families in an opportunity to explore the Bible in an informal and enjoyable way. Some summers children take part in Bible learning through a traditional-type "vacation bible school." At other times, children and their parents enjoy innovative activities like the 2008 "Summer Camping" experience that brought families closer together for a week of learning and fun. |
|
The children of CHCPC are actively involved in two service activities. A local project involves collecting food for the Food Bank. A second project is the international Heifer Project, in which children raise money for families in a third world country to buy farm animals for help in their subsistence living. |
|
Scheduled events occur throughout the year that recognize the learning that takes place as children grow in the spiritual knowledge. Some of these scheduled events are age-specific, while others are for the participation of all children. |
|
Child Care for infants through age four children is provided each Sunday, beginning at 8:45 a.m. and ending at noon. The nursery is staffed by the same two people every week, thereby providing consistent and friendly care. Pagers are available so parents may have peace of mind while attending the worship service or an adult education class. |
